Customer: I'm trying to put an issue to rest about what and where authors can use a link to their book on Amazon
Dani: Just to be on the same page you mean putting the link of your book in other places so customers can go to it?
Customer: Yes, someone suggested Amazon has strict rules. The way I figure it, if an author has the rights to use their book cover for promotional purposes and want to post it with a link to their book on let's say a blog, Amazon does not have any problem with that
Dani: No, you can put your link in other places if you want, that doesn't violated guidelines of Amazon.
Customer: Including something like a marketing web app, which, in essence is doing the exact same thing as the blog example I used
Dani: Yes, since is just a link you can do it, we don't recommend doing that if you are enroll in KDP select with your eBooks but you don't so all good.
Customer: Just out of curiosity, not recommended if KDP select why?
Dani: Is an exclusive enrollment with KDP, if you go and publish or promote your book outside of Amazon it can create a conflict with the enrollment.
